Rachel I. Good, 99, of Geneseo, died December 1, 2022, at Long Term Care of Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 5th at Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo. Rev. Dan Seibert will officiate. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Cornwall Township, Henry County. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Monday at the church. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Geneseo, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Mayo Clinic Alzheimer’s Disease Research.
Rachel Irene Sleight was born September 12, 1923 in Atkinson the daughter of Abraham and Clora (Farnam) Sleight. She was educated in Atkinson schools and graduated from Atkinson High School in 1941. She attended American Institute of Commerce in Moline. Her marriage to Elbert W. Good took place on December 21, 1944 in Atkinson. He passed away February 13, 2000. The couple had farmed in Burns Township until retiring and moving to Geneseo in 1984. Rachel had also worked at Rock Island Arsenal and Deere & Co. in Moline. Rachel was a past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Atkinson. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, sewing, quilting and spending time with family.
Those surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Leonard Boelens, Galva, two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Debbie Good, Dunlap, IL, and Roland and Joyce Good, Parker, South Dakota. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, Kevin (Kayy) Good, Kimberly Good, Benjamin (Kat) Good, Autumne (Kyle) Hinton, Brian (Carrie) Boelens, Brock (Natalie) Boelens, and Brad (Hilary) Boelens, and ten great-grandchildren.
Her parents, her husband, a grandson, Joseph Good, and a sister, Marion Dexter preceded her in death.
