Jill A. Gustafson, 74, of Cambridge, Illinois died on Monday, April 26, 2021, peacefully at her home after an extended illness. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 3rd at Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Rev. Randall Mullin will officiate. Memorials may be made to Jill Gustafson Memorial Fund. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jill Eidemiller was born October 24, 1946, in Ironwood, Michigan the daughter of Richard and Gloria (Swanson) Eidemiller. She grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa graduating from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. She then graduated from Iowa State University in Ames with a degree in Textile and Clothing in 1968. On July 15, 1967, she married David Gustafson in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He survives. Jill had taught textile and clothing at Community College while she was in Ames. They then returned to Illinois where Jill raised her family in the Cambridge area. The most important thing in her life was her family and grandchildren often supporting them by attending as many of their sports, music, dance, and school events as she could. Jill made every child and grandchild’s birthday special with her loving ways. She found great joy in flower gardening and planted beautiful elaborate beds and containers. She loved the holidays and her family meals will be a lasting memory. She especially cherished the spirit of Christmas. Jill was a welcoming face at The Red Oak in Bishop Hill, Illinois where she filled many roles over 17 years of employment there, her favorite was managing The Christmas Shop. Jill was also an animal lover and adored her two King Charles Cavalier dogs.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, David; daughter, Kim (Bruce) Radke, Glen Ellyn, Illinois; sons, Kurt (Christi) Gustafson, Altoona, Iowa and Brent (Heather) Gustafson, Hinsdale, Illinois; grandchildren, Brock, Sophie, and Audrey Radke, Grace, Alex, and Abby Gustafson, and Brady and Annie Gustafson. She is also survived by her mother, Gloria Eidemiller, Story City, Iowa, and brothers, John (Linda) Eidemiller, Ames, Iowa, and Joe Eidemiller, Portland, Maine. She was preceded in death by her father.
