Obituary

James G. Dodge, 79, of Geneseo went to be with his Lord from Hammond Henry Hospital on Monday, November 15, 2021.  Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 19th, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Geneseo.  Rev. Stephen Mueller will officiate.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  Visitation will be from 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the church.  Memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church or Hammond-Henry Hospital Foundation.

James George Dodge was born November 15, 1942, in Geneseo, IL, the son of George and Ruby Marie (Menzenberg) Dodge.  He graduated from Geneseo High School in 1960.  James was united in marriage to Joyce Furstenau in July 1965 in Geneseo, IL.  She survives.  He worked for Geneseo Municipal Utilities for 22 years until retiring in 1997.  James was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed being a craftsman and working with wood.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two children, Carmen (Lloyd) Foster, Annawan, and Jeremy (Amy) Dodge, Geneseo; five grandchildren, Benjamin (Kasey Rumler) Foster, Sherrard, Andrew Foster, Geneseo, Joshua (Kristina) Dodge, Geneseo, Carson (Alex Scott) Dodge, Geneseo, and Emma Dodge, Geneseo; and his two sisters, Pat (Mike) Smith, Cherry Valley, CA, and Sara (Bruce) Wheeler, Mineral.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
