Dorothy E. (Stach) Yarger

Dorothy E. Yarger, 91, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon, IL.  Funeral services will be held at11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services.  Rev. John Knueppel will officiate.  Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Cambridge Ambulance Service.

Dorothy Elaine Stach was born May 19, 1931 in rural Bishop Hill, the daughter of George E. and Laura E. Whipple Stach.  She was educated in the Cambridge school system.  Her marriage to Donald Yarger took place on December 21, 1973 in Cambridge.  He passed away on April 7, 2010. 

She was employed at nursing homes in Cambridge, Coal Valley, and Kewanee.  Dorothy enjoyed knitting and crocheting.  She and Don also enjoyed camping, traveling, and eventually spending winters at their home in Arizona.

Those surviving are two sons, Kevin (Susan) Stach, Dixon, and Dennis Robinson, Cambridge, a stepson, Ron (Sharry Johnson) Yarger, Princeton, IL, a stepdaughter, Jan (Craig) Palmer, Cambridge, and a sister, Cleus Brocket, Cambridge.  Other survivors include, eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.            

Her parents, her husband, two sisters, Bernadine Lief and Mary Mae Reilly, and seven brothers, Gerald, Arnold, Berwyn, Milford, Stanley, Stuart, and Harlan Stach, preceded her in death.
