Winifred Jane Spilker, 79, of Milan, formerly of Cambridge, died Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island. Cremation has been accorded and a private committal service will be held on Friday, September 15th, at Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Memorials may be made to Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Jane was born January 16, 1938 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Henry J. and Elizabeth L. Beck Logsdon. She was educated in St. Patrick, MO schools and graduated from St. Patrick High School in 1956. Her marriage to Lewis H. "Mick" Spilker, Jr. took place on Nov. 28, 1957 in Quincy. He passed away May 7, 2006.
The couple moved to Cambridge in 1967. Jane worked as a CNA at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo, for several years and then worked in the bakery department at Wayne's Super Value in Cambridge for a year. Her hobbies were quilting, crocheting, and refinishing furniture.
Those surviving are two daughters, Patricia S. Kowitz, Moline, Sandra Goepper, Cambridge, two sons, Lewis H. (Debbie) Spilker, III, Waterloo, IA, Kenneth R. (Julie Anderson) Spilker, Milan, foster daughters and spouses, Tina and Dan Smith, Cambridge, and Amanda DeLellis, Cambridge, 12 grandchildren, six foster grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters, Mary Rhodes, St. Patrick, MO, Ciel Abbot, Farmington, MO, Alice Jenkins, Farmington, MO, Fran Rebs, Wisconsin, Jody Edmondson, Springfield, IL, and three brothers, Ted Logsdon, Melbourne, FL, Frank Logsdon, Tennessee, and Dave Logsdon, St. Patrick, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Karen Dyer, a brother, Bill Logsdon, and a great grandson, Deondre Kowitz.
