William Reynolds

William John Reynolds, 84, of Geneseo died Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December. 16th at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services 225 E. Park St. Geneseo. President Jim Tertipes will officiate. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a local charity of the donor''s choice.

William was born Jan. 16, 1927 in Batavia, IL the son of Roy C. and Effie L. (McDonald) Reynolds. He attended Batavia and Elgin area schools. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Beverly Brooks on July 26, 1952 in East Moline. She survives. William worked as a bus driver in Aurora, IL, Davenport, IA and Oakland, CA for 30 years. He retired from A.C. Transit in Oakland, CA in 1987.

Memberships include, Geneseo Branch Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, A.C. Transit Union, and A.C. Retirees Club. He enjoyed leather tooling, archery, figure drawing, studying scripture.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly; daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret Reynolds, Escalon, CA, Kathleen and Ralph Garza, Escalon, CA, Julie and Roger Saben, Mesa, AZ, and Susan and Greg Bolen, Hillsboro, MO; sons and daughters-in-law, William and Pam Reynolds, Salem, OR, Daniel and Virginia Lee Reynolds, Brecksville, OH, David Reynolds, Geneseo, and Robert Reynolds, Geneseo; 15 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Roy, Hal, Frederick and Myrl; and four sisters, Margaret, Laura, Dorothy, and Ellen.
