William Miller

William R. Miller, 76, of rural Osco went to be with his Lord surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 08, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12th at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Geneseo. Rev. Christopher Bushre will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 225 E. Park St., Geneseo. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Geneseo where he was a member.

Bill was born May 27, 1937 in Geneseo the son of Ralph W. and Maxine E. (Lund) Miller. He graduated from Geneseo High School in 1955. Bill married Shelby J. Betcher on Dec. 1, 1957 in Geneseo. She died on May 2, 2009. Bill was a lifelong farmer in the Osco and Edford Townships. In his early years he had also worked at Hedman and Anderson Lumber Yard, Geneseo.

Bill enjoyed playing cards, golf, boating, attending auctions, making clocks and other woodworking. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and sharing Skittles candies with them and others.

Survivors include four sons, Duane (Barb) Miller, Osco, Terry (Deb) Miller, Orion, Rollin Miller, Osco and Rodney (Theresa) Miller, Osco. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Ryan (Michelle) Rasmussen, Brady (Laurie) Rasmussen, Tara Miller, Brian (Amanda) Miller, Lindsey (Alex Gustafson) Miller, Alex Miller, Kyle Miller, Nick Miller, Jacob Miller, and Haillie Miller, three great grandchildren, Sydney, Tyler and Nora Rasmussen, sister, Fran (Bill) Westerlund, Orion and brother, Roger Miller, Geneseo.
