William Mckee

May 17, 1938 — March 12, 2012


William B. McKee, Jr., 73, of Sheffield, died Monday March 12, 2012, at Kewanee Hospital. Private funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 14th, at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Sheffield. Rev. Sebastian Tumusiime will officiate. Burial will be at Sheffield Cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Western Bureau County Food Pantry, Sheffield, Sheffield Rescue Unit, or Friends of Strays Animal Shelter, Princeton, IL.

William was born May 17, 1938 in Hinsdale, Illinois, the son of William B. and Katheryn E. Rassweiler McKee. He graduated from Sheffield High School in 1956. His marriage to Joan Guerrini took place on January 27, 1962 in Dalzell, IL. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1961.


He graduated from Illinois State University, Normal, and received his master’s degree from Bradley University, Peoria. Bill taught history at Kewanee High School and farmed in the Sheffield area. He served on the Kewanee Planning Commission. His hobbies included working on model railroads, collecting and working on cars, and harness horse racing.


Those surviving are a son, William B. McKee, III, Kewanee, a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Dr. John Dale, Brimfield, IL, a granddaughter, Elizabeth Dale, Brimfield, three brothers, Dr. John (Suzanne) McKee, Salisbury, MD, Dr. Richard (Carol) McKee, Ellicott City, MD, Deems McKee, Salisbury, MD, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Marilyn West, Sheffield.
