Warren E. "Bud" Hier, 88, of Cambridge, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m.on Thursday, December 29th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. A Masonic Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Liberty Cemetery, Cornwall Township, at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Cambridge Fire Department or the Cambridge Ambulance Service.
Warren Edward Hier was born February 18, 1934, in Kewanee, the son of Henry W. and Alice I. Davis Hier. He was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1954. His marriage to Carol Hunter took place on January 9, 1955, in Cambridge.
He farmed in Munson Township and worked for Henry County Highway Department for 25 years. Bud was a member of the Cambridge Lodge No. 49, A.F & A.M., and the Izaak Walton League, Geneseo. He enjoyed horseback trail riding, fishing, camping, and attending his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities.
Those surviving are his wife, Carol, a daughter, Terri Ratliff (Jim O'Leary), Aledo, granddaughters, Carrie Larson (Rey Suarez) and Amanda (Ryan) Jacobs, great grandchildren, Lizzy, Macenzie (Christian), Dwight, and Kyle. Other survivors include a great great grandson, Warren, and a sister, Marie Johnson, Cambridge. His parents and a brother, Donald, preceded him in death.
