Virginia M. Mille, 74, of rural Galva, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehab Center in Rock Island. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Atkinson. Memorials may be made to the Virginia Mille Memorial Fund.
Virginia Marie VanDyke was born April 26, 1942 in Geneseo, the daughter of Virgil and Betty Byers VanDyke. She was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1960. Her marriage to George Mille took place on September 25, 1960 in Cambridge. She was a homemaker and also worked as the bookkeeper for Mille Sawmill. Her memberships included the Bishop Hill Quilt Club and the Quad Cities Arabian Horse Club. She enjoyed reading and cross stitch.
Those surviving are her husband, George, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dan Mille and David and Kim Mille, all of rural Galva, grandchildren, Chelsea, Chris, Shayla, and Andrew, a sister, Genevieve (Larry) Fisher, Rock Island, two brothers, Marvin (Cindy) VanDyke, and Tim (Karen) VanDyke, all of Cambridge. Her parents preceded her in death.
