Vera Edwards

Vera J. Edwards, 95, of Geneseo died on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo.  Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29th at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  Rev. Melva England will officiate.  Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church.

Vera Jean Obrecht was born October 22, 1923 in Munson Township, Henry County, IL the daughter of Lorrin and Daisy (Tomlinson) Obrecht.  She graduated from Geneseo High School.  On Feb. 14, 1942 she married Horace D. Edwards in Kahoka, MO.  He died on June 16, 2015.

Vera had worked in Medical Records at Hammond-Henry Hospital before retiring in 1982.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Women of the Moose both in Geneseo.

Survivors include grandsons, Kirk and Chris Hulslander; great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Cheryl Olson, granddaughter, Connie Johnston and sisters Doris DeBlieck and Joyce Lohman.
