Terry L. Pierson, 70, of rural Sheffield, formerly of Atlanta, Ga passed away after a long battle with Parkinson Disease and Cancer on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Aperion Care, Princeton, IL. Celebration of Life memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 20th, (which would have been his 71st birthday) with a time to visit with his family from 10:00 a.m. until the services at 11:00 at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, 339 E. Chestnut, Sheffield. Rev. Terry Lancaster will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sheffield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sheffield-Mineral Rescue Unit.
Terry was born April 20, 1948 in Kewanee, IL the son of Herbert C. and Shirley M. (Holman) Pierson. He graduated from Annawan High School in 1966. He attended Valparaiso University then graduated from Massey Junior College in Atlanta Ga. Studying interior design.
After college he worked in interior design in Atlanta, Ga, He then worked in the furniture business in Chattanooga, TN. Following that he then owned and operated “Pierson’s Restaurant” in Marion, IL. He then returned to Atlanta and worked for Rachel Conway at House Parts, Inc. until his retirement. He traveled worldwide purchasing for House Parts Inc. Upon retirement he returned to the Sheffield area.
He was a proud member of Beard Team USA. Where he traveled worldwide competing in beard competitions. He was an excellent cook. He also enjoyed gardening.
Survived by his sister, Cindy (Rick) Ganschow, Sheffield; brother, Tim Pierson and his significant other Christy Rees, Sheffield; nieces and nephews, Scott (Meghan) Ganschow, West Burlington, IA, Shannon (Jaime) Ganschow, Normal, IL, Tyler (LaNette) Pierson, Perkins, OK, Kari (Terry) Hepner, Monmouth, IL and Kati (Matt) Grimes, Mineral, IL;& 16 great nieces and nephews; his uncle and aunt, Delbert & Joanne Holman, Champaign, IL and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Gary Pierson.
