Stephen Degeeter

Stephen L. DeGeeter, 66, of Aledo passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo, IL.  Private services will be held at a later date.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family.

Stephen was born November 28, 1954, in LaSalle, IL the son of Albert W. and Bernetta (Patch) DeGeeter.  He was raised on a farm in Little York, IL.  He graduated from Monmouth High School in 1972.  On December 2, 1972, he married Lorie Ann White in Monmouth, IL.  She survives.  Stephen had worked at Doans in Muscatine, IA and after retiring had operated his own lawn mowing service for 16 years.

Steve loved farming and helped many farmers throughout the years, but His greatest love was his family and his granddaughters.  They were the joy of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Lorie, Aledo; three children, Stephen R. (Karen) DeGeeter, Aledo; Carrie (Mark) Freeman, Seaton, IL; Marylu (Scott) Lee, Rock Island, IL; granddaughters, Cassidy and Macy Freeman, Seaton; sister, Barb (Randy) Goodwin, Monmouth, IL niece, Michelle Goodwin, Monmouth, IL.   He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, Jamie Goodwin, and a niece Amy Goodwin.
