Stanley Taets

Stanley R. Taets, 72, of Kewanee, formerly of Annawan, died Saturday, December 21, 2013, in the emergency room of Kewanee Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 26th, at the Annawan Community United Methodist Church. Rev. Dan Wright will officiate. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Annawan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Stan Taets Memorial Fund. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Annawan, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Stanley was born November 17, 1941 in Princeton, Illinois, the son of Mel and Frances Reider Taets. He was educated in Mineral, graduated from Mineral High School in 1959, and then attended a trade school in Chicago. He first married Donelda Ellis. His marriage to Grace Powell took place on October 19, 1970 in Annawan. She died June 13, 2005. Stanley married Phyllis Beaman on December 11, 2008. He was a truck driver and worked for various trucking firms in the area. Stan was last employed at G D Trucking in the Quad Cities area until retiring. He enjoyed playing the accordion, woodworking, and watching the cooking and DIY channels. Those surviving are his wife, Phyllis, Kewanee, a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kim Taets, Utah, a daughter-in-law, Carol Taets, Kewanee, five grandchildren, Jessica, Heather, Ben, Andrew, and Brandon, four great grandchildren, a step daughter, Dianna Zinna, Philadelphia, MO, and two step grandchildren, Brittany and Anthony. His parents, his wife, Grace, and a son, Patrick Taets, preceded him in death.
