Sharon Ann Lawson, 73, of Geneseo died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 2nd in the Mausoleum at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Mark Larson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 225 E. Park St., Geneseo. Memorials may be made to Sharon Lawson Memorial Fund.
Sharon was born Sept. 20, 1939 in Derby, Indiana the daughter of Charles Leon and Elma J. (Bryant) Lampkins. She graduated from New Haven High School in 1959. She also attended Black Hawk College in Moline. She had married Frank Lawson in Ft. Wayne, IN.
Sharon had worked as a nurses aid for 6 years at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley and then at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo for 16 years until retiring in 1991. She was a member of Christian Congregation of Jehovah''s Witnesses, Geneseo. Sharon enjoyed crocheting, reading, cooking, baking and loved to laugh. She had been a foster mom to over 120 children.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Janet Lampkins, Ft. Wayne, IN; 2 grandchildren, Randie and Jessey Lawson, Rock Island, and her companion and friend, Judy Bishop, Kewanee. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Linda Love and son Steven "Biker Bob" Lawson.
