Seldon H. “Bud” Leonard, 84, of Geneseo went to be with his Lord on Monday, August 17, 2015 from Hillcrest Home, Geneseo.  Funeral Services will held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 21st at First United Methodist Church, Geneseo.  Rev. Dr. Christopher Ritter will officiate.  Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal with Military Honors.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 225 E. Park St, Geneseo.  Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Geneseo.

Bud was born Feb. 11, 1931 in Davenport, IA the son of Thomas and Ferra (Bish) Leonard.  He served in the U.S. Air Force in Alaska during the Korean War.  He married Agnes Simester Hays on March 6, 1965 in Davenport.  She died on Dec. 3, 2003.  Bud had worked 34 years as Parts manager for John Deere Dealerships.  He had also owned and trained race horses for several years at the Quad City Downs.

Memberships include First United Methodist Church, Geneseo where he was active in the Men’s Ministry and had been a Pastor Prayer Partner.  Bud had been a past president of Optimist International and was an accomplished pianist.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and John Karwath, Sterling; sons William K. Hays, Atkinson, and Lee Leonard, Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren, Jodi, John, Angela, and Lezlee; and one great grandchild, Gavin.  Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Sandy Leonard, Science Hill, KY; a nephew, Thomas; and a niece, Carol.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Norma Landers; and a brother, William.
