Ruth Liner Crawford, 92, of Geneseo, IL, died January 6, 2014, at Hillcrest Home in rural Geneseo. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. February 1, 2014 (Saturday) at First Congregational Church, 319 S. State St., Geneseo, IL. Memorial visiation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m.. prior to the services.
Ruth was born on December 25, 1921 in Cedar Grove, North Carolina, the daughter of Henry and Maude Liner, and was one of 8 children. She was a graduate of the Duke University Nursing School in Durham, North Carolina, and married C. L. Crawford on June 27, 1947 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Ruth and C.L. settled in Davenport in 1963 and remained there until C.L. retired in 1986. They moved to Lake Oswego, OR to enjoy their retirement. Ruth was a homemaker and an active member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years on December 12, 1993.
Survivors include her sister Jean McDade, her daughter Jean (David) Crawford Selkowitz of Bellevue, WA, her son Donald (Claire) Crawford of Geneseo, IL, two granddaughters, one great granddaughter, in addition to numerous relatives residing in North Carolina.
