Roy Hunsaker

Roy C. Hunsaker, 56, of Cambridge, died Friday January 18, 2013, at Trinity Rock Island. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 22nd at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Rev. Randall Swanson will officiate. Inurnment will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge, with military services by the Cambridge American Legion. Memorial visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Roy Hunsaker Memorial Fund.

Roy was born October 20, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of George and Mary Ellen Brown Hunsaker. He was educated in Galva schools. Roy served in the U.S. Army from 1977 to 1981. His marriage to Michelle Stach took place on December 4, 1981 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They divorced in 1995.

He worked in Texas as an automotive mechanic and then moved back to the Cambridge area and became a partner in S & R Cores. Later he moved to Texas and worked for several years at a mobile home factory. Roy was a member of the Cambridge American Legion Post No. 417. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and NASCAR. He loved to attend races whenever he could.

Those surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Jack Monroe, Kewanee, Maryann and Patrick Sharp, Cambridge, Christine Melton, Tipp City, Ohio, and seven grandchildren, Destinie, Livia, Jacklyn, Sarah, Ethan, Robert, and Sebastian. Other survivors include his father, George Hunsaker, Missouri, a sister, Georgette Little, Galesburg, and three brothers, John Hunsaker, Texas, Dennis Hunsaker, Missouri, and Darrell Hunsaker, Texas.
