Robert A. Hartman, 47 of Magnolia Texas died at his home on Sunday, July 15, 2012. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21st at St. Malachy''s Catholic Church, Geneseo. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo with military rites by Geneseo Veterans of Foreign War. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 225 E. Park St., Geneseo, IL with a wake service to be held at 7 p.m.Robert was born on January 23, 1965 in Geneseo, the son of John and Gloria (Loftus) Hartman. He graduated from J.D. Darnall High School, Geneseo in 1983 and in 1987 earned his BA in Accounting and Business Administration from Augustana College. Upon graduation, Robert was employed for a short time at Bituminous Casualty Corporation before entering the U.S. Federal Marshals training program. Upon graduation, Robert served as a Deputy Marshal from 1991-1997. In 1997 he was promoted to U.S. Marshal Inspector and was transferred to Houston Texas. After the tragedies of 9/11, Robert transferred to the Federal Air Marshal Service as a Federal Air Marshal. He served in this capacity from 2002 until his retirement in 2011. Robert loved his work with the Marshals service and traveled to all corners of the globe protecting and serving his country. He also served in the United States Army Reserves from 1999-2007. He is survived by his sisters, Debra (Mike) Woods, Frazee, MN, Sheri (David) Quillen, Geneva, IL, Jayne (Brian) Baldwin, Warrenville, IL, Julie (Ismael) Seguban, Chicago; brothers, Tom Hartman, South Gate, CA and Ron (Tracy) Hartman, Geneseo as well as thirteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John and his best friend and loyal companion, his German Shepherd, Casey.
