Robert Gale Gardner was born January 10, 1948 in Galesburg, the son of Wilson G. and Avice M. Fink Gardner. He was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1966. Bob attended the Lincoln Barber College in East Moline, graduating in 1968. His marriage to Kathy Heberer took place on March 21, 1971 at the family farm in rural Cambridge.
He was a self employed barber at his shop, Shears, in Kewanee for 50 years and had farmed most of his life on the family farm. Bob was not a man of great accomplishments, he was just a great man who knew no strangers.
Those surviving are his wife, Kathy, his children, Patience (Paul) Hansen, Genoa, IL, Neil Gardner, Kewanee, and Mariah (Craig) Clementz, Prophetstown, and grandchildren, Griffin, Sydney, Madysen, Nash, Brody, and Ella. Other survivors include a brother, a sister, and an aunt. His parents and a sister preceded him in death. The family would like to thank Christine Wexell, Dennis Nussear, and Amanda Johnson of the Cambridge Ambulance, Officer Winters, and neighbor and friend, Meg, for being there for Kathy.
