Richard Walline

Richard H. Walline, 91, of Cambridge, died Monday, March 11, 2013 at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 15th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Home.

Richard was born February 10, 1922 in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Henry W. and Anna Nelson Walline. He was educated in Cambridge area schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1941. His marriage to Lois Stevens took place on June 7, 1945 in Cambridge. She passed away June 25, 2010. Richard farmed until 1964 then worked at John Deere Harvester Plant in East Moline until retiring in 1986. He and Lois belonged to the Flemish-American Club in Kewanee in their younger years because they loved to dance. They had attended the Cambridge United Methodist Church. Richard’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, and woodworking.


Those surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Darrell Bast, Silvis, two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Barbara Walline, Cambridge, Richard S. and Threasa Walline, Chillicothe, IL a daughter-in-law, Vicky Walline, Cambridge, four grandsons, Brian, Kevin, Travis, and Shawn, and six granddaughters, Angi, Viki, Tamera, Kelsi, Katina, and Crystal. Other survivors include five step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 15 step great grandchildren. His parents, his wife, a son, Carl Walline, and a son, Michael Walline, who died March 9, 2013, preceded him in death.
