Raymond J. Lang, 88, of Macomb, IL, formerly of Galva, died Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at the home of his daughter in Galva. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 28th, at the Galva Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services followed by a military service by the Galva Fusiliers. Brandi Klughart will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Cremation will take place after the service and inurnment will be in the Galva Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.
Raymond Joseph Lang was born October 27, 1931 in Edina Missouri, the son of Guy R. and Geneva I. Noblett Lang. He was educated in the Edina schools and graduated from Edina High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. His marriage to Ruby Landreth took place on October 29, 1954 in LaPlata, MO. She passed away on June 20, 2010.
He started working as a welder at LeTourneau in Peoria from 1955 to 1956. Raymond then transferred to the coal mine in Victoria in 1957 and worked there until 1980. He then went to work at the mine in Industry until retiring in 1994. His memberships included the Kewanee VFW and the Hagberg-Hamlin American Legion Post No. 45, Galva. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Those surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Tom Kewish, Galva, a son, Joe Lang, Austin, TX; three grandsons; Aaron Kewish, Galva, Chris Henscheid, Aledo, Tony Lang, Cedar Park, TX, a granddaughter, Autumn Harland, Moline IL, a great-grandson, Lorenzo Sarver, Moline, and a great granddaughter, Bristol Henscheid, Joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Teri Henscheid, and a brother Francis Lang.
