Raymond Floyd DeLay, 95, of Boone, IA, formerly of Geneseo died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Boone County Hospital in Boone, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17 th at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 225 E. Park St. Geneseo. Rev. Melva Graham-England will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Masonic services by Stewart Lodge #92 A.F. & A.M. will also be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with visitation between the services from 1:15 to 2: 00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Geneseo Humane Society.
Floyd was born June 14, 1918 in Palestine, IL the son of William Earl and Mabel (Dickinson) DeLay. He married June Shafer on September 26, 1940 in Robinson, IL. She died on February 8, 2010. Floyd had worked as an office manager for Kraft Foods. He had been a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo, Geneseo Masonic Lodge and the Geneseo Country Club.
Survivors include four children, daughter, Sharon Scandrett-Hibdon, Ogden IA; son, Robert DeLay, Cummings, GA, son, Randall (Jeanne) DeLay, Coal Valley, and daughter, Cynthia (Javier) Bermudez, Kewanee. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, a sister and a daughter-in-law.
