Paul L. Larson, 98, of Cambridge, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 3rd, at the Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover. Rev. Reid Pedersen will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Augustana Lutheran Church. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Paul Lester Duane Larson was born August 3, 1922 in Oxford Township, rural Alpha, the son of Oscar W. and Iva Ruth Nelson Larson. He graduated from Orion High School in 1940. His marriage to Marjorie E. Swanson took place on September 6, 1947 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orion.
He farmed in Lynn and Andover Townships. Paul was also employed in the repair division of International Harvester for 25 years, retiring in 1984. His memberships include the Augustana Lutheran Church, the Henry County Farm Bureau, and he was a charter member of Valley View Country Club, Cambridge. His hobbies were golf, playing cards, dancing, and traveling.
Those surviving are his wife, Marjorie, a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sandy Larson, Metamora, Illinois, a son-in-law, Bob Gates, Milan, five grandchildren, Kelly (Dan) Bruce, Erin (Ron) Bosch, Jill (Matt Gross) Larson, Brian (Darcy) Glass, Brett (April) Glass, and eight great grandchildren. His parents, his daughter, Sandy Gates, a brother, Howard Larson, and two sisters, Vivian Fredell, and Evelyn Beckman, preceded her in death.
