Paul E. DeMay, 66, of Cambridge, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 1st, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Cremation will take place after the visitation, and there will be a Celebration of Life in August. Memorials may be made to the Paul DeMay Memorial Fund.
Paul Eugene DeMay was born August 2, 1950 in Kewanee, the son of Peter and Louise Specht DeMay. He was educated in Cambridge schools. Paul served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His marriage to Teri Johnson took place on July 8, 1978 in Cambridge. They later divorced.
He worked as the service manager for Drescher Pontiac in Cambridge and also for Crowe Ford in Geneseo. Paul then worked for National By Products (Darling Company) in Lynn Center from 1991 until retiring in 2015. He was a member of the 40 et 8 in Annawan and was a trustee of the Osco Community Church. His hobbies were fishing, camping, guns, and his two dogs, Toby & Cocoa.
Those surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Hilary Sullivan, Lynn Center, Barbara and Jeremiah Fuller, Andover, two son and a daughter-in-law, Nathan DeMay, Macomb, Anthony and Jennifer DeMay, Osco, and four grandchildren, Cole and Riley Sullivan, Brianna DeMay, and Blakely DeMay. Other survivors include a brother, George (Bernice) DeMay, Kewanee, and sisters, Alice Hansen, Prophetstown, Catherine (Ronald) Vincent, Kewanee, and Theresa (Michael) Echelberger, Springfield, OH. His parents, a sister, Dorothy Wolf, and two brothers, Francis and Raymond DeMay, preceded him in death.
