Orville Wexell

May 31, 1928 — August 7, 2015

Orville F. Wexell, 87, of Cambridge, died Friday, August 7, 2015, at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 12th, at the Cambridge Lutheran Church.  Rev. Randall Swanson will officiate.  Burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services.  Memorials may be made to the Cambridge Lutheran Church.

Orville Francis Wexell was born May 31, 1928 in Cambridge Township, Henry County, Illinois, the son of Charlie and Violet Anderson Wexell.  He was educated in the Cambridge rural school system and attended the Excelsior Country School.  His marriage to Ruth A. Martin took place on April 28, 1951 in Galesburg.  She passed away on June 1, 2015.  Orville served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan.

He was a lifelong farmer in Cambridge Township.  Orville also worked at the Farmall Plant in Rock Island for 22 years until the plant closed.  He then worked for 10 years at Pine Trailer in Kewanee until retiring.  His memberships included the Cambridge Lutheran Church, the Henry Count Farm Bureau, and the U.A.W. Local 409.

Those surviving are a daughter, LuAnn Steffen, Abingdon, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas Wexell (Robin), Scott and Shelly Wexell, all of Cambridge, a son-in-law, Jocques Bogguess, Cleveland, IL, grandchildren, Kristofor Wexell, Nicole (Shelby) Lawrence, Ryan (Christine) Wexell, and Blake (Laura) Bogguess, and eight great grandchildren.  His parents, his wife, a daughter, Lori Bogguess, a sister, Dorothy Johnson, and a brother, Charles Wexell, preceded him in death
