Nicholas “Nick” A. Moore, 69, of Cambridge, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at his home. A memorial open house will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 20th, at his home located at 326 S. Ridge St., Cambridge. To honor his wishes, cremation has been accorded and there will be no formal funeral service. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nick Moore Memorial Fund.
Nicholas Adrian Moore was born May 21, 1943 in Marysville, CA, the son of Chester and Mildred Perry Moore. The family moved to rural Cambridge in 1951. Nick was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1961. He married Mary Ann Wells on January 21, 1964 in Cambridge. She is deceased. His marriage to Judie Champion Morgan took place on February 5, 1983 in Colchester, Illinois.
Before retiring from Milan Surplus after 20 years of service, he was a meat cutter in the Quad Cities.
Nick was an avid golfer and long-time member of the Valley View Country Club, Cambridge. He enjoyed photography, playing the guitar, country music, and was a devoted fan of the Hawkeyes, Cubs, and Bears.
Those surviving are his wife, Judie, Cambridge, his father, Chester Moore, 96, Cambridge, children and their spouses; Dawn and Fred Cook, Moline, Tammy and Pete McCutchen, Alexandria, VA, Jon and Michelle Moore, Cambridge, step-children; Sherri Morgan, Andover, Sandy Morgan, Columbia IL, and Sonya Morgan, Columbia IL. Other survivors include grandchildren; Brandon Cook, Moline, and Justin Cook, Iowa City, siblings and their spouses; Rod and Connie Moore, Galesburg, Arden and Lorrine Moore, Woodhull, Sheila and George Johnson, O''Fallon, IL, Charlotte and Dave York, Milan, Geri and Dan Birdsall, Lynn Center, Delbert and Lien Moore, Davenport, an uncle and aunt, Wilbur "Buster" and Barb Perry, Knoxville, and many beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. His first great grandchild is expected in June. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Moore.
