Michael Hedges

Michael T. Hedges, 43, of rural Sheffield died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010 in Willowbrook, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20th at Sheffield United Church of Christ in Sheffield. Rev. Jane Courtright will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec 19th at the Church. Memorials may be made to Michael Hedges Memorial Fund. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services is assisting the family with arrangements.

Michael Todd Hedges was born March 10, 1967 in Galesburg, IL the son of Robert and Judith (Rosenwinkle) Hedges. He graduated from Monmouth High School in 1985 and attended Maharishi University of Managements in Fairfield, Iowa. He married Elizabeth “Betsy” Falck Stodghill on August 10, 1994 in Princeton, IL.

Mike was an account manager for the Packers Sanitation Services, Inc, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He enjoyed four wheeling and fishing with his family. Mike had a heart of gold. He always put others ahead of himself. He could make a room come to life with his wonderful sense of humor. He deeply loved his family.

Survivors include his wife, Betsy, daughter, Stephanie Hedges, and son, Phillip Hedges, both at home; step-daughter, Amanda Stodghill and step-son, Tony Stodghill, both of Buda; his mother, Judith Hedges, Galesburg; sister, Connie Hedges, Galesburg and brothers, Brian (Jeannine) Hedges, Byron, IL and James (Daphne) Hedges, Monmouth, IL. Also surviving are his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Barbara Bradford, Crystal Lake, IL, and father-in-law and step-mother-in-law, Richard and Jane Falck, Gainesville, FL and sisters-in-law, Mary Grieff, Princeton, IL, Dr. Suzanne Falck-Yi, Forest City, IA, Kristin McCarthy, Lake Geneva, WI and Elsie Falck, Gainesville, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert and a brother, Tony Hedges.
