Maxine Mckinley

Maxine M. McKinley, 78, of Cambridge went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 23, 2018 from Liberty Village, Geneseo after a courageous battle with cancer.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2nd at Grace Lutheran Church, Ophiem, IL.  Pastor Nancy Jaster will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until services at the church on Friday.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and private inurnment will be on Saturday, March 3rd at Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery, Ophiem.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church - Cemetery Fund.  Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge is assisting the family.

Maxine Mae Carlson was born June 8, 1939 in Galesburg, IL the daughter of Paul and Chrystal (Samuelson) Carlson.  She graduated from Alwood High School in 1957 and from Herley Beauty School in Rock Island.  On Nov. 30, 1958, she married Larry McKinley at Grace Lutheran Church. Ophiem, IL.  He survives.

Maxine had worked 23 years for the Clerk & Assessments Office at Henry County Court House.  She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she had been chair of council, Sunday school teacher, volunteer secretary, member of W.E.L.C.A. and the Dorcas and Lydia Circles.  She enjoyed flowers, gardening, quilting, cross stitching, and doing jig saw puzzles.

Survivors include her husband, Larry; daughters and sons-in-laws, Brenda McKinley, Independence, MO, Belinda and Jim Webb, Grayslake, IL, and Debra and Mike Cass, Roscoe, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Jana McKinley, Lake Stevens, WA; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Joanne Carlson, Woodhull, Harry and Donna Carlson, Woodhull, Harvey and Barb Carlson, Lynn Center, Robert and Glenda Carlson, Madison, IN, and Wesley and Sandy Carlson, Lynn Center;  sister and brother-in-law, Norma and John Ingram, Strawberry, AR; and sister-in-law, Barbara Carlson, Peoria.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers Raymond and Ralph Carlson.
