Mary Anne Daniels

Mary Anne Daniels, 79, of rural Geneseo died on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at the Allure Nursing Home, Geneseo.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at First Lutheran Church, Geneseo.  Rev. Matt Kamprath will officiate.  Burial will be in Edford Township Cemetery, rural Geneseo.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.  Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, Geneseo, or ELCA World Hunger Fund.  Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Geneseo is assisting the family.

Mary Anne Fatchett was born on August 4, 1942 in Clinton, IA the daughter of George and Leone (Dosland) Fatchett.  Mary Anne graduated from Elvira High School, Elvira, IA in 1960, from University of Northern Iowa, and with her masters from Western Illinois University.  On April 1, 1972 she married Gary L. Daniels in Geneseo, IL.  He survives.

Mary Anne had worked at Chemplex in Clinton, IA, taught two years at St. Malachy’s School, Geneseo and then taught 38 years for Geneseo School District before retiring in 2000.  She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Geneseo and the LCW of the church.  She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Gary; three children, Brian (Rebecca) Daniels, Geneseo, Sherilyn (Tom) Yerly, Peru, IL, and Lareon (Heather) Daniels, Le Claire, IA; four grandchildren, Megan, Mallory, Isabella, and Brayden; and step-grandchildren, Tyler and Hannah Yerly.  She is also survived by a sister, Evelyn (Ray) Stuedmann, Clinton, IA; and a brother, Robert (Ruth) Fatchett, Elvira, IA.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marilyn Zeimet; and a step-grandson, Grant Yerly.
