Mary L. Johnson, 67, of Cedar Creek, Texas, formerly of Cambridge, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at South Austin Medical Center, Austin, Texas. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Rev. Steve Kettelkamp will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mary Johnson Memorial Fund.

Mary Louise Watson was born June 10, 1944 in Kewanee, the daughter of Virginia Schnowske and was raised by her grandparents, James Robert and Mary Jane Charlton Watson. Mary was educated in Kewanee area schools. Her marriage to Galen D. Johnson took place on August 8, 1964 in Kewanee. He passed away December 26, 2001. She was a homemaker and in her early years had worked at the King’s Table in Geneseo, the Kewanee Hotel, and the Park Lane Motel in Kewanee. Mary enjoyed arts and crafts and spending time with her camping friends. She was a big fan of Elvis Presley music.


Those surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Julie Johnson, Cedar Creek, TX, Michael Johnson, Cedar Creek, Sheila Johnson, Kewanee, Ed and Connie Johnson, Cambridge, Rodney and Debbie Johnson, Kewanee, nine grandchildren, and a great granddaughter. Other survivors include sisters, Ressie Kopple, Donna Carter, Linda Frantzen, Janet Schnowske, Betty Eggimann, and brothers, Kenneth Schnowske and Steve Schnowske. Her parents, her husband, and brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
