Mary Emma Donahue, 86, Mineral, IL passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013 at North Shore University Hospital in Evanston, IL. A private service will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton on May 28, 2013. A memorial fund has been established on behalf of the Mineral Sheffield Rescue Unit, which provided great assistance and care to Mary and her husband on several occasions. Mary was born on May 15, 1926 in Nelson County, Kentucky, the daughter of George Russell and Mary Ethel Clark. She married Patrick Augustine Donahue on November 24, 1941, at Holy Cross Church in Holy Cross, Kentucky. He died Dec. 17, 1999. Mary raised eight children and worked as a restaurant cook and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, collecting teapots, and going to yard sales. She was hard-working and provided excellent care and guidance to her children. Mary Emma also had a mischievous side, which she exhibited only occasionally. She was a very private person, and enjoyed her solitude.

Survivors include: daughters and sons in law: Mary Patricia and Joseph Wathen (Louisville, KY); Fidelma Ann Donahue (Williamsburg, VA), Frances Emily and George De Ford (Streamwood, IL) and Sheila Joan Donahue (Evanston, IL); sons and daughters-in-law: Phyllis Donahue (wife of James David, deceased (Magnolia, Texas), Joseph Edward and Linda Donahue (Princeton, IL), Timothy Patrick and Dorothy Donahue (Chicago, IL); and Mark Anthony and Raeann Donahue (Freeport, IL). Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and five siblings: Mary Susan Richmond (Louisville, KY), Mary Mildred Brown (Louisville, KY), Myles Kenneth (Louisville, KY), James Russell "Joseph" (New Haven, KY), and George Russell, Jr. (Bardstown, KY). Mary''s parents, husband, a son, one sister Mary Elizabeth and two brothers Joseph Lewis and Joseph Leon preceded Mary in death.

The family extends a special heartfelt thank you to Ms. Cherry Capati who was Mary''s caregiver, and most especially, her very good friend during her time in Evanston.
