Marshall "Pee Wee" Lyon

Marshall D. “Pee Wee” Lyon, 88, of Mineral went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf..  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019, at Mineral United Methodist Church, Mineral, IL.  Rev. Terry Lancaster will officiate.  Burial will be in Mineral Cemetery, Mineral.  Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Sheffield.  Memorials to Mineral United Methodist Church or Mineral Gold Library.

Marshall was born on April 7, 1931 in Mineral, the son of Marion Errold and Martha Mabel (Davidson) Lyon.  He graduated from Mineral High School in 1949, and served in the US Army during the Korean conflict.  He married Joan Marie Mills on January 21, 1951 in Mineral, IL.  She preceded him in death on March 3, 2009.

Marshall owned and operated EB Lyons & Sons in Mineral, and served as the Mineral Township supervisor until 1998.  He also was a real estate and insurance agent.  Marshall also served as the Mineral Township clerk.  He was a founding member of the Mineral Gold Library, a member of Mineral United Methodist Church, and attended Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo.  He served as Village Water Commissioner for many years.  Marshall was very talented in many ways and even built his own home.

Survivors include his children, Linda (John) Carlson, Mineral, Thomas Lyon, Mineral, and Kathy (John) Tank, Geneseo; eight grandchildren, Alicia (David) Brown, Michael (Jeannie) Carlson, Melanie Stabler, Amber (Matt) Williamsen, Bryan Tank, Brianna (Geoff) Aper, Deanna Lyman, and David (Samantha) Lyon; and twenty-one great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Betty Humphreys; and four brothers, Errold, Roger, Stanley and Kaye Lyon.
