Mae Dedecker

May 6, 1923 — December 3, 2013

Mae M. DeDecker, 90, of Annawan went to be with her Lord surrounded by her loving family at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo on Tuesday, December 3, 2013.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9th at Annawan Community United Methodist Church, Annawan.  Rev. Dan Wright will officiate.  Burial will be in Annawan Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 401 W. Front St., Annawan.  Memorials may be made to Cherubs the Association of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Research, Awareness and Support.

Mae Martin was born May 6, 1923 in Kewanee, IL the daughter of Bert and Esther (Winter) Martin.  She graduated from Wethersfield High School, Kewanee.  Mae was united in marriage to Edward L. DeDecker on Aug. 15, 1941 in Annawan.  He died on May 29, 2009.  Mae had worked in the cafeteria at Annawan Grade School.

Memberships include Annawan Community United Methodist Church where she had helped in the kitchen with many church dinners and also helped in preparing meals for Annawan Kiwanis Club.  Mae had helped with Annawan Pride Food Pantry and in making wedding cakes.  She also was a member of Royal Neighbors.  She loved bingo and cards.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Douglas and Jean DeDecker, East Moline and Charles DeDecker, Annawan; two grandchildren, Melissa (Jonathan) Pate, Moline and Joshua (Megan) DeDecker, Gloucester Point, Virginia and two great grandchildren, Brady and Ashton.  Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Hall, Peoria and Eva Jane Helepin, Benton, Arkansas; a very special sister-in-law, Marjorie Hughes, Mineral and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, William Martin.
