Lynn E. Rounds, 67, of Moline, died Thursday, March 15, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 19th, at the Faith Lutheran Church, Moline. Rev. Dr. Mark Gehrke will officiate. Burials will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church, Moline Youth Ministry, Two Rivers YMCA, or Live Strong Cancer Program.
Lynn Esther Gorden was born June 10, 1950 in Kewanee, the daughter of Emery J. and Martha A. Shaffer Gorden. She was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1968. She received her nursing degree from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1971. She married John Swiger and they later divorced. Her marriage to Lawrence W. Rounds took place on February 14, 2004 in Moline.
She was employed at the Hammond-Henry Hospital in Geneseo and the Illini Hospital in Silvis. Lynn was then the office nurse for Dr. Randall Mullin, Dr. John Dannenfeldt, and Dr. Peter Metcalf, before retiring in December of 2009. Her hobbies included flower gardening, horses, running races such as the Bix, the Race for the Cure, the Quad Cities Marathon, and 5 k's and firecracker runs. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Two Rivers YMCA, Moline, Live Strong, and Viade Christo.
Those surviving are her husband, Larry, two daughters, Rhonda Miller (Eric Hand), Lewistown, IL, Rebecca "Becky" (Scott) Fredrickson, Peoria, IL, step children, Bill (Eileen) Rounds, Reading, MA, Trisha (Brad) Smith, Silvis, Sherry (Jay) Greenwood, Waukee, IA, Lorie (Eric) Markin, Colona, and Jonathan (Jami) Rounds, Moline. Other survivors include grandchildren, Kyle Miller, Pekin, Grace Miller, Lewistown, Brooke Fredrickson, Peoria, Todd Fredrickson, Peoria, step grandchildren, Bridget Rounds, Reading, Jacqueline Rounds, Reading, David Smith, Silvis, Emiley Smith, Silvis, Jordan Greenwood, Waukee, Autumn Lage and Kaitlyn and Zachary Markin, all of Colona, Juliana Rounds, Milan, Amaya Young, Moline, Serena Young, Moline, and Hannah Butler, Port Byron. A sister, Alice Daugherty (Norman Stenzel) Champaign, IL, brothers, Richard Gorden, Elkhart, IN, Arlan Gorden, Leoti, KS, Robert Gorden, Ankeny, IA, a half-brother, Don (Linda) Gorden, Sr. and family, and nieces and nephews, Julie, Angie, Jessica, Jennifer (Mike), Karen (Kevin), Cathy, Aaron, and Pete (Alyssa) also survive. Her parents, her sister, Betty Wislander Weis, and 2 grandsons, Ian Miller and Nathan Fredrickson, preceded her in death.
