Lyle H. DeSplinter, 66, of Cambridge, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo. Cremation has been accorded and there will be a private family service at a later date. Inurnment will take place in the National Cemetery. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Lyle Henry DeSplinter was born February 6, 1951 in Geneseo, the son of Henry J. and Fern M. Lundell DeSplinter. He was a member of the Geneseo High School Class of 1969 and attended the Trinidad State Junior College in Colorado. Lyle served in the U. S. Marines during the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a machinist for the GNH Orthodontics Company in Franklin, Indiana, retiring in 2015. Lyle was a member of the Geneseo VFW. In his early years, he enjoyed competitive shooting.
Those surviving are two sons, John Henry DeSlinter, Powa, CA, Jason DeSplinter, Brighton, CO, four grandchildren, a brother, Dennis DeSplinter, Sacramento, CA, and a sister, Doreen Brennan, Cambridge. His parents and a twin brother, Lynn, preceded him in death.
