Lucille Neumann, 93, formerly of Cambridge, died Monday, June 29, 2009, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2nd, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Rev. John Eisfelder will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to Hillcrest Home Auxiliary.
The former Mamie Lucille Scott was born September 21, 1915 in Cambridge, the daughter of Mark and Mamie Mizner Scott. She was educated in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1933. She attended a business school in Davenport. Her marriage to Kenneth D. Neumann took place on January 17, 1940 in Cambridge. He died on May 13, 1963. Lucille worked at the Country Companies insurance office in Cambridge from 1952 to 1955. She was then employed at the Henry County Clerk and Recorder’s Office as deputy county recorder, retiring in 1982.
Her memberships include the Cambridge United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a 50 year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a 50 year member of the Mystic Chapter No. 160, Order of the Easter Star, Cambridge.
Those surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Lyle and Priscilla Neumann, Springfield, IL, a granddaughter and her husband, Cherri and Lance Dolieslager, Kewanee, and two step grandchildren, Lora Dhom, Springfield, IL, and Stephen Gharst, Peoria, IL. Other survivors include a sister, Aimee Hungate, East Moline, and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, her husband, a grandson, Curtis Neumann, and two sisters preceded her in death.
