Loretta Mille

Loretta I. Mille, 88, of Galva, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Kewanee Care Nursing Home.  Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 1st, at the Galva Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services.  Graveside committal services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, rural Kewanee.  Father John Burns will officiate.  Memorials may be made to Henry County Animal Shelter or St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Loretta Irene Barrett was born November 25, 1927 in Princeville, Illinois the daughter of Walter and Laura Worsfold Barrett.  She was a graduate of Dunlap High School and received her mental health aide certification when she worked for the Galesburg Research Facility.  Loretta later got her Illinois Beautician License in 1967 and had a beauty shop in Toulon and Mille's Shop in Galva for many years.

Her marriage to Gerald Streitmatter took place on May 23, 1947 in Peoria County.  He passed away on April 7, 1965.  She married Albert Mille on September 29, 1973 in Kewanee.  He died September 30, 1992.  Albert and Loretta were members of the Flemish-American Club in Kewanee, and they loved to dance.

Those surviving are a daughter, Diana Streitmatter, Galva, two sisters, Martha Begner, Princeville, Thelma Begner, Easton, IL, a brother, Willis Barrett, Princeville, and many nieces and nephews.  Her parents, her two husbands, two brothers, Warren and Walter Barrett, and three sisters, Wilma Bouton, Lavonia Harlan, and Leatha Taylor, preceded her in death.
