Lois Ashley

Lois L. Ashley. 84, of Geneseo, died Thursday, November 23, 2017, at her home.  Private funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services.  Public visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Henry County Humane Society-Geneseo.

Lois Lee Robinson was born June 26, 1933 in Andover the daughter of Freeman and Helen Johnson Robinson.  She was educated in Orion schools and graduated from Orion High School in 1951.  Her marriage to Charles E. Ashley took place on September 27, 1952 in Andover.  He passed away September 25, 1988.  Lois was a receptionist at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo, for 15 years and then worked in the craft department at the Geneseo Walmart for ten years.  She was a member of the Geneseo Church of Christ and various quilt clubs.  Lois was an avid quilter and enjoyed various crafts.

Those surviving are two daughters, Brenda (Bryce) DeCook, Bryon, MN, Stacy Ashley, Geneseo, five sons, Mark (Emiko) Ashley, Gretna, LA, Robert (Gina) Ashley and Stephen Ashley, Geneseo, Thomas (Gretchen)  Ashley, Bettendorf, and Joseph (Kelly) Ashley, Annawan.  Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.  Her parents, her husband, two sisters, Diane Clary and Ione Bestor, two brothers, Gayne and Howard Robinson, and an infant brother, Jerry,  preceded her in death.
