Lela Robinson

Lela F. Robinson, 98, of Kewanee, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Kewanee Care Nursing Home. Graveside committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 13th, at Evergreen Memory Gardens, rural Kewanee. Rev. Max York will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the State Road Church. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lela Florence Malmgren was born April 3, 1915 in Bishop Hill, the daughter of Aldo and Florence Forse Malmgren. She was educated in Cambridge area schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1933. Her marriage to Lyle M. Robinson took place on June 19, 1937 in Burns Township. He passed away on May 24, 1988. Lela was a homemaker and the couple farmed in Burns Township. After Lyle retired in 1982, they moved to Kewanee.

Her memberships included the State Road Church, rural Kewanee, the Social Circle Club of the church, and the Henry County Home Extension. She was a 50 year member of Mystic Chapter 160, Order of the Eastern Star in Cambridge. Lela loved knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, and cooking.

Those surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Joyce Robinson, Cambridge, a son-in-law, Roger Conrad, rural Cambridge, four grandchildren and their spouses, Julie and Brent Kruger, Dixon, IL, Brett Robinson, Camdenton, MO, Kevin and Cindy Conrad, rural Cambridge, and Craig and Kaleena Conrad, rural Galva. Other survivors include eight great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Her parents, her husband, a daughter, Lynn Conrad, a sister, and two brothers preceded her in death.
