Leila Hulting

Leila M. Hulting, 89, of Annawan, died Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Hammond-Henry Long Term Care, Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15th, at the Fairview United Methodist Church south of Annawan. Rev. Dan Wright will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Annawan-Alba Library or the Annawan-Alba Food Pantry. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Annawan, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Leila Mae Dynes was born April 12, 1923 in Annawan, the daughter of George and Lois Machesney Dynes. She graduated from Annawan High School, attended Cornell College, and graduated from Iowa State University. Her marriage to Alvin “Bud” Hulting took place on October 5, 1947 in the Fairview United Methodist Church in Annawan Township. She was a member of the Fairview Church, the UMW of the church, and the Annawan-Alba Women’s Club. Leila was an award winning pie baker. Her family always came first in her life.



Those surviving are her husband, Bud, two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert and Nancy Hulting, Annawan, Russ and Deb Hulting, Loveland, CO, a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Fred Anderson, Brookfield, WI, five grandchildren, Judd Hulting, Andy Hulting, Elizabeth Wied, Kathryn Nielsen, Kristofor Anderson, and six great grandchildren. Other survivors include a sister, Dorothy Wildemuth, Annawan, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Her parents preceded her in death.
