Larry Weinrich, 75, of Cambridge, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021, at his home due to failing health. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, February 12th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Private committal services will be held at a later date at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Larry Weinrich Memorial Fund.
Lawrence Fredrick Weinrich was born June 17, 1945 in Geneseo, the son of Vernon and Annabelle Cowden Weinrich. He was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1963. He attended Western Illinois University in Macomb for one year before entering the U.S. Army and serving from 1965 to 1967 during the Vietnam War. His marriage to Jacqueline Kay Stull took place on June 18, 1966 in Cambridge. They later divorced.
He was employed at the John Deere Harvester plant in East Moline from 1964 until retiring in 2006. Larry was a member of the Cambridge Lutheran Church, Valley View Club, Cambridge, and the Cambridge American Legion Post No. 417. His hobbies were golf, hunting, and fishing. Larry loved following high school sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
Those surviving are a son, Christopher Weinrich, Cambridge, a daughter and her husband, Heather and Derick Brown, Orion, five grandchildren, Noah Weinrich, Rock Island, Seth and Grace Weinrich, Rockford, Jenna Woolley, Orion, and Chloe Weinrich, Rockford, and special friends, Dick and Kathy Borg, Cambridge. His parents and a grandson, Brady Cantrell, preceded him in death.
