Larry A. Johnson, 75, of rural Cambridge, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018, in the emergency room of Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. At his request, a private family funeral service will be held on Monday, February 12th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Rev. Les Zook will officiate. Private committal services will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Larry Arthur Johnson was born February 26, 1942 in Kewanee, the son of Quentin and Grace Johnston Johnson. He was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1960. His marriage to Shirley Janean Merritt took place on February 10, 1963 in Cambridge. He served in the Army National Guard. Larry was a lifelong farmer in rural Cambridge. His memberships included the Cambridge United Methodist Church and the Henry County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed working with electricity, especially generators. Larry loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Those surviving are his wife, Janean, sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas Johnson, Cambridge, Randy and Amy Johnson, Davenport, Mickey and Monica Johnson, Cambridge, and a daughter and son-in-law, Greta and Kevin Kundel, Davenport. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Dillon Johnson, Brenna, Emily, Shawn, and Kyle Kundel, and a brother, Charles (Sue) Johnson, Cambridge. His parents preceded him in death.
