Judith A. “Judy” Bodeen, 75, of Geneseo died on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Genesis Illini Medical Center, Silvis. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30 th at Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo. Rev. Melva England will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church. The family requests casual dress for the services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
Judy Hungerford was born on June 11, 1944 in Geneseo the daughter of John and Neva (Fowler) Hungerford. On Nov. 1, 1964 she married Gregory Bodeen in Geneseo. Judy owned and operated Bodeen’s Beauty Shop in her home in Geneseo for 52 years.
Judy was a very active member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Pearl Circle at the church. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose in Geneseo. Whenever there was a need Judy was there to lend a hand. She loved to garden, having a real green thumb, she also loved reading and baking. She enjoyed making people happy and had a keen sense of humor.
Judy is survived by her husband, Greg; three children, Drew (Karman) Bodeen, Geneseo, Jeff (Patty) Bodeen, Colona, and Stephanie Runge, Walcott, IA; five grandchildren, Rayne and Reece Bodeen, Jacob Bodeen, and Rylee and Hunter Runge; and brothers and sisters, Jack (Cheryl) Hungerford, Glencoe, IL, Jane Massey, Rock Island, Jim (Jody) Hungerford, Saginaw, TX, Joan (Kevin) Kempher, Washington, IL, and Jean (Ron) Contillo, Sarasota, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death.
