Joyce A. Robinson, 77, of Geneseo, formerly of Cambridge, died Monday, January 9, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society, Geneseo Village. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Rev. Randall Swanson will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Cambridge Lutheran Church.
Joyce Alta Moore was born February 10, 1939 in Kewanee, the daughter of Gail and Marjorie Peterson Moore. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1957 and attended Illinois State University in Normal for one year. Joyce transferred to Northern Illinois University in DeKalb and received her bachelor's degree from there in 1961. Her marriage to Larry Robinson took place on August 8, 1971 in Cambridge.
She taught at AIC Business School in Davenport for one year. Joyce taught at Minooka High School for two years, and Cambridge Grade School for six years. She then taught at the Cambridge High School from 1971 to 1994. Joyce was confirmed in the Cambridge Lutheran Church.
Those surviving are her husband, Larry, a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Brent Kruger, Dixon, IL, a son, Brett Robinson, Camdenton, MO, three grandchildren, Hailey (Matthew) Whitaker, Nathan (Emily) Kruger, and Alyssa Kruger, and a sister Shirley (Glen) Orr, Mount Morris, IL. Her parents and a brother, Donald Moore, preceded her in death.
