Joyce Blackert

Joyce L. Blackert, 80, of rural Mineral, IL died on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.  Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3rd at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Geneseo.  Rev. Terry Lancaster will officiate.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Mineral-Gold Fire Department or the Mineral United Methodist Church.

Joyce Evans was born October 16, 1942 in Milan, IL the daughter of Claude and Eileen (Olson) Evans.  She graduated from Annawan High School and attended Beauty School in East Moline.  In June of 1958 she married Walter Blackert in Geneseo, IL.  He survives.

Joyce had worked as a beautician for many years.  She also had been a volunteer for many years for the Hooppole Fire Department as an EMT.   She had been a member of the Calvary Church, Hooppole.  Joyce enjoyed quilting, crocheting, flowers, and birds.

Survivors include her husband, Walter; four sons, Wade (Julie) Blackert, Ward (Vicky) Blackert, Jon (Jennifer) Blackert, and Jay Blackert, all of Mineral; five grandchildren, Amber, Jeremiah, Abigail, Patrick, and Jesslyn; and her sister, Janye DePape, Silvis.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, JoAnn Powell; and granddaughter, Crystal.
