Jeanne L. Lamb, 84, of Galva, died Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the Toulon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13th, at the Galva Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Burial will be in the Galva Cemetery. Rev. don Reul will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Abilities Plus or the Alzheimer's Association.
Jeanne Lucille Carper was born November 30, 1931 near Buda, IL, the daughter of John Laurence and Gladys Anna Webb Carper. She was educated in Galva schools and graduated from Galva High School in 1949. Her marriage to Herbert E. Lamb took place on February 19, 1951 in Galva. Jeanne worked as an accountant at the First National Bank of Galva until 1973. She was then employed at the Saving and Loan in Aledo until retiring and moving back to Galva in 1985.
Her memberships included the First Baptist Church of Galva where she was a 74 year member and had the longest continuous membership in the church. The couple wintered in Florida for 25 years after retirement, and she was active in the Red Hat Society there. Jeanne loved gospel music, walking, and reading, especially her bible.
Those surviving are her husband, Herbert, Galva, a daughter and son-in-law, Lorretta Lamb Warrren and Donald Warren, DeSoto, Missouri, a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lori (Smith) Lamb, Gays, Illinois, and a granddaughter and her husband, Nikki and Dalton Whetsell, Fairview Heights, IL. Other survivors include a sister, Joyce Dietrich, Westport, WA, and a brother, Richard (Mary) Carper, Corvallis, OR. Her parents and a sister, Jacque Carper, preceded her in death.
