ROCHESTER, Minn. — Janice Van Hulle of Rochester, Minn., died on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016.
She was born Feb 18, 1945, to Henry and Mary Van Hulle of Sheffield.
She graduated from Annawan High School in 1963. She attended Northern Illinois University and Mayo Clinic, where she earned her degree in physical therapy in 1968. Most of career, except for about six years in California, was spent at Mayo Clinic in Rochester as a physical therapist specializing in hand therapy.
She is survived by a sister, Frances (Robert) Fry of Huntley; a niece, Kristin (Ryan) Adams of Barrington; a nephew, Joshua Henry of Jefferson Park, Chicago; a step niece, Laura (Jamie) Guzman of Irvine, Calif.; and two step nephews, Joel (Amanda) Fry of Chicago and Jason (Jessica) Fry of Waukesha, Wis and their families.
Those that knew Janice were aware of her many health struggles throughout her years. They knew she was a strong, independent woman that many times beat the odds for her survival. She remained positive when others would have given up. She has graciously donated her body to the Mayo Clinic and will continue to help students learning to follow in her footsteps even after her death. Her family is very proud of her. She will be greatly missed.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 14, 2017 (Saturday) at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 231 W. Atkinson St., Sheffield, IL. Father Mark Miller will officiate. Following the mas a reception will be held in St. Patrick’s Parish Hall. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Sheffield. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Sheffield is assisting the family with arrangements.
