Janet L. Hutchinson, 77, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, formerly of Coal Valley and Cambridge, died Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Upjohn Community Care Center, Kalamazoo. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 3rd, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Rev. Randall Swanson will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Janet Lee Hutchinson was born July 31, 1935 in Geneseo, the daughter of W. D. "Jack" and Mary Hannan Hutchinson. She was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1954. She took courses and training to become a nurse''s aide. Janet worked in that capacity for 34 years at the Oak Glen Nursing Home in Coal Valley. In 1997, she moved to Kalamazoo to be close to her family.
Those surviving are a brother-in-law and his wife, Gene and Marilyn Swenson, Palm Desert, CA, a niece, Diane Magnante, Kalamazoo, three nephews, Richard (Marcia) Swenson, Bellingham, MA, Donald (Carol) Swenson, Pleasanton, CA, David (Denise) Swenson, Portage, MI, nine great nieces and great nephews, one great great niece, and one great great nephew. Her parents, a sister, JoAnn Swenson, and a great nephew preceded her in death.
