James L. Gray, 60, of Princeton, formerly of Sheffield died Friday, January 10, 2014 at OSF Medical Center, Peoria after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 th at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Sheffield. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Sheffield. Father Mark Miller will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Sheffield Library or Sheffield Playground Fund.
Jim was born March 17, 1953 in South Bend, IN the son of Marvin and Arlene (Kemerling) Gray. He graduated from Neponset High School in 1971. Jim married Marilyn Becue on March 16, 1974 in Sheffield. She survives. Jim had worked 30 years until retiring from Case IH in East Moline. He then had worked at Hotsy Equipment, Princeton until his death. He had served on the Sheffield Library Board. He loved music, motorcycles, computers and tinkering and especially his family.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, Princeton; two daughters, Sherri (Matt) Jones, Tiskilwa and Jennifer Adams, Bradford, a granddaughter, Illyana; two step granddaughters, Julia and Angelica; his mother, Arlene Gray, Kewanee; a brother, Danny (Doreen) Gray, Mesa, AZ; a brother-in-law, Mike Becue, Sheffield and a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, sister, Starr and brother, Daniel.
